Parenting Tips – We All Shout Sometimes | George & Mummy Parents Corner
Sometimes I shout, when I don’t mean to,
When he jumps on the couch, and I’m covered in poo
I roar like a lion, all fury and pride
Then whisper “I’m sorry” when I see how he’s cried
A petted lip and eyes get wide
And I feel that sting deep down inside
I didn’t want fear, just a minute o’ peace
But my loud voice may never cease
It could be stress, too tired, the mess, the noise
My pal said her girl’s the same, it’s no just the boys
And those terrible twos go on til their twenties
That’s no excuse , my tone’s left me empty
So I kneel on the floor and look in his eyes
And we’re both welling up and exchanging wee sighs
Mummy’s still learning I could’ve handled that better there
But you need to know my love disnae vanish when tempers flare
George says:
We can’t be perfect all the time, a really long cuddle can make all fine
